L.A. Barbershop had to pay $75,000 for refusing to cut the hair of a man living with HIV.

Hear Nikko's Story from  lambdalegal.

According to the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology in California, barbers in that state are not required to complete continuing education credits to maintain a license.

If the Barbers in that shop were educated on HIV and understood how it is transmitted or even the stigma behind the disease, they probably could have used that $75k to renovate their shop and I am sure they would have saved a lot of time and frustration. 🤦🏾‍♀️
